WHAT IS INTEGRATIVE MASSAGE: Our signature massage is best described as Integrated Swedish and Deep Tissue. We use the long flowing strokes of Swedish massage to relax and prepare the body and then move into deeper massage strokes to relieve aches, pains and deeply embedded stress. This provides a feeling of relaxation while all the kinks are being worked out. Some of our therapist will also add in other techniques including trigger point, myofascial/connective tissue, or orthopedic massage. We pride ourselves in excellent communication and discovering individual preferences and then following through, so every client receives the massage they want. Every massage includes heat pack, warm towels for the feet and your choice of masterfully blended Aromatherapy.

Couples massages are the same as Integrative Massage times two. Relax with the one you love, right here in Flagstaff in our cozy candle lit couples room. Whether you are celebrating a landmark moment in your relationship or having a special date night, you will enjoy our high quality therapies and a special time to relax together.

"Every time that I get a massage here, I always feel 100% better than when I walked in. They are the best!" - Lita B.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF INTEGRATIVE MASSAGE:

Receiving massage on a regular basis has so many benefits. Here are our favorites
  • Stress Reduction - Lowers stress hormone levels and calms the nervous system
  • Pain Management - Reduces muscle tension patterns that may be causing or contributing to pain
  • Improved Circulation - Stimulates blood flow to deliver oxygen and nutrients to muscles and connective tissues
  • Improved Immune Function - Increases activity of "killer T cells" which fight off disease.
  • Boosts Mental Health - Eases symptoms of stress, anxiety and depression

CONTRAINDICATIONS FOR INTEGRATIVE MASSAGE: (Don't receive a massage if you...)
  • Have a contagious disease
  • Have a fever
  • Have a severe sun burn or contagious skin rash
  • Have uncontrolled hypertension
  • Have Thrombophlebitis or areas of unexplained heat and swelling.
(Because of the level of skill and training our therapists have, we work with many conditions other facilities won't. So even if you've been told you can't receive a massage, call us and ask. Our therapist know how to modify and adapt the massage so we can probably work with you)

"My husband and I were visiting from out of town and decided to do a couples massage. Absolutely fantastic experience! First time for both of us. Everyone was so friendly and we left feeling very relaxed." - Jordan H.

WHAT TO EXPECT WITH INTEGRATIVE MASSAGE:
  • During your first session expect a thorough consultation during which the therapists may ask for details about issues you are having in your body. This is an opportunity for you to communicate any questions, concerns, or requests you may have and ask for specific areas of focus or any special accommodations you may need.
  • You will need to undress for the massage. You can leave underwear on if you feel more comfortable. The therapist will step out after your consultation and allow you time to undress, knocking upon return to make sure you are ready. You will be covered with a sheet and blanket and the therapist will only undrape the area they are working on. Our therapists are very skilled at appropriate draping.
  • During your session your therapist will ask about your comfort and whether the pressure is appropriate. Please make sure to communicate clearly about this. Our feelings don't get hurt if you ask for an adjustment in the pressure. We may be the experts at massage but you are the expert on your body, so let us know if something doesn't feel right. And if anything on the table or the temperature needs to be adjusted let us know about that too. We want you to have the best experience possible.
  • Your therapist will use a variety of techniques to help both with relaxation and with manipulation of soft tissue. Again communication is key to getting exactly what you want and need from your session.
  • Your therapist may guide you through some breathing techniques to help you relax or help you let go in a certain tension area. Participate as fully as you can with these techniques.
  • Your therapist will use oil for the massage. This is the best way to glide over the skin without pulling. Our oil does contain almond oil so if you are allergic to nuts let us know. Your choice of aromatherapy blends are complementary with your session. Please see our menu to choose your favorite. You can also ask your therapist to smell them before your session. Your therapist may also use tools, warm towels, and Mycoclinic (analgesic ointment).

"A magically relaxing place! I went looking for a massage to help get my migraines under control, and I’m so glad that I found this place! I had a good feeling about them from right when I booked the appointment — they ask all about your preferences, from how much you like to chat during a massage to what kind of music you like to listen to. " - Meg E.

HOW TO PREPARE FOR INTEGRATIVE MASSAGE:
  • Fill out your digital forms sent in the confirmation.
  • Come a little early and have a cup of tea to settle in.
  • Drink water before your massage but not too much so as not to interrupt your session.
  • Eat lightly before your session, you will be lying on your stomach and that can be unpleasant if it's full.
  • Do not drink alcohol, caffeinated drinks, or use drugs prior to your session.

CUPPING
Cupping is an ancient healing technique used by many cultures to promote blood flow and healing. We use soft silicone cups which can be used while moving and stretching the body and can be moved over the skin. Please note that markings  are common after cupping sessions and are a normal reaction to it. Not available with prenatal.

HOT STONES
We warm smooth basalt rocks to the perfect temperature and then use the stones to warm the tissues before moving into soft tissue manipulation. This allows the tissues to warm and soften making it easier to get in deeper. A wonderful treatment any time but especially in the winter as the rocks literally warm you to the bone. Not available with prenatal.

SOLE SOOTHER
Give your feet some extra love. You will start to relax and unwind during the  epsom salt foot soak which soothes tired feet. This is followed by a minty foot scrub to stimulate circulation to the feet and lower legs. Finally your massage will include extra time on the feet. You will feel like you are walking on air following this treatment.
