Registered Yoga Instructor

It has been my absolute pleasure to provide the community of Flagstaff with massage therapy for the last 21 years. In 1992, I completed my training at the University of California, Santa Cruz, possibly the only public university in the country at the time with a Massage Therapy training program.

My studies included: Swedish Massage, Acupressure, Herbalism, and intensive Anatomy and Physiology. I continued my training after completing my certification with Deep Tissue, Prenatal, La Stone, Cranial Sacral, the Arvigo Techniques of Mayan Abdominal Massage, Myofascial Release, and Thai massage. And somewhere in there I also managed to squeeze in Yoga Instructor Training.

In my 30 years in this profession, I have had the good fortune of practicing massage in many settings and each has provided ample learning opportunities. I have also been a massage instructor and taught my techniques to hundreds of students.I have learned through out my years of practice that each person on my table is unique with unique needs and I strive to meet those to the best of my ability and to help each person achieve a greater sense of themselves as whole, healthy human beings. I am now moving toward retiring from massage to focus on running the business. Therefore I am not seeing new clients. I encourage you to try a session with one of our other amazing therapists.

She is amazing! I have some special health needs that she has always been super helpful with and respectful of. Any day I get to see her is a great day. "

"Best truly deep tissue massage I've had in years. Emily is an extremely skilled massage therapist and I will definitely be coming back. Thank you!"

I am an athlete, outdoor enthusiast, and live an active lifestyle. In my free time, I enjoy biking, weightlifting, and practicing yoga. I have a history of working in the fitness industry and am passionate about the importance of functional movement with proper body mechanics. Massage helps alleviate restrictions that can lead to poor body mechanics and injury. It is my belief that the mind and body are one. Each of us has a unique body with its own story. From my own personal work, it is clear to me that emotions are stored in the tissues of the body, which causes pain.

I intend to provide attention and presence in each session, addressing the specific needs of each client. I consider it my job to guide each client on the path to their own healing and to body/mind awareness. It is my goal to help others achieve their optimum potential.

As a graduate of the Arizona School of Integrative Studies, I have been introduced to many modalities. My skill set includes deep tissue, Swedish, connective tissue, stretch therapy and sports massage and rehab and I intend to further my education in these areas.

I am also certified in cupping. During a weeklong Fascial Dissection Lab, I studied the muscular and fascial system of the human body, gaining further expertise in the field of anatomy. I continuously strive to expand my knowledge and skills. I am thrilled to be a part of an amazing team of therapists at NAZMT.

Licensed Massage Therapist

I was born here in Flagstaff AZ, where I was raised roaming the woods, dancing around barefoot , and looking up at our star filled sky. And at the age of 9,  I was fortunate enough to start receiving massage therapy. Becoming a massage therapist seemed like a natural and beautiful continuation of my journey and I am excited to be able to provide you with all the healing benefits that massage has to offer.

Every-body is different; if this journey has shown me anything so far, it’s that everyone has their own story, their own reason for needing a massage. I’m ready to help each of you progress in your story as much as I can with the skills I have learned and will continue to learn!

I developed my skills and learned a lot of modalities at the Arizona School of Integrated Studies (ASIS). What I offer is Swedish, deep tissue, and cranial sacral with shiatsu and Thai influences. Since massage therapy was part of my upbringing, the experience of being on the table for so many years has given me a deep insight into the experience itself. I’m excited to share this experience and facilitate the continuation of  your story!

"I had terrible back pain and Claire was willing to stay late for me. She massaged my back for an hour and removed every knot. When she completed the massage, I could move freely without pain. What a relief! I highly recommend her work."

"Absolutely incredible massage by Katie! I didn't think my muscles could relax the way they did, especially with the cupping. Thank you so much!"

I believe in the power of therapeutic touch, breath work, and presence during sessions. I love working with clients to achieve their goals with pain, stress reduction, and their overall connection with their body. Massage Therapy has been a huge factor in my physical and emotional healing, and I want to provide that experience for others.

My favorite modalities to perform are Swedish, Deep Tissue, and Cupping. I look forward to continuing my education in Shiatsu, Thai massage, and abdominal massage - along with being a forever student of Anatomy & Physiology.

Outside of massage, I love spending time in nature in all
forms, being in good company, and dancing.

I’m so happy to be a part of Northern Arizona Massage Therapy and I look forward to working with you!

I graduated from Arizona School of Integrated Studies in Tucson, AZ where I was born and raised. I was a ballet dancer for 17 years and musical theatre performer for 11 years. When I was 19, my mother died suddenly and I had two friends going to massage school. I received massage therapy to treat a number of physical symptoms from performing and I noticed it greatly helped me with the grieving process.

I believe that the source of a person’s healing can be found within themselves. I strive to collaborate with each client to find their ultimate sense of peace within their bodies.  I decided to pursue massage as a career when I grew tired of waiting tables and acting. I immediately noticed how it helped with my own personal journey with mental illness, trauma , and injury rehabilitation.

I enjoy studying how physiology and mental health correlate and am passionate about being of service in this field to help make the world a lighter place to live. I am a student of Kung Fu, yoga, and mediation and enjoy bringing these art forms to the table with my approach to massage therapy. Today, my time is spent more behind the scenes directing children’s plays and singing in my church band.

"Rachel, ummm ya... Rachel. Did I mention Rachel? Amazing, best massage I've had in a long time. I live on airplanes, so I have seen some great therapists on the road. No one, has ever. Not one, really really gotten my spots and made them melt. She finds something, and takes care of it right then and there. She's new at this place! Give her some love and book immediately! Calculated strong hands. Love ya Rachel! Thanks again and see you again Friday!"

I grew up in Orange County, California and moved to Flagstaff in 2020 to study health and nutrition. Some of my first employment experiences taught me about bodywork, such as managing a chiropractic office and starting my own yoga practice serving people with a wide variety of therapeutic needs.

When it comes to taking care of the body, I believe deeply in the power of self-care and mindfulness. Given this, I believe strongly that the massage profession is my true path and mission. I am deeply dedicated to my studies and to expanding my knowledge through massage research literature and continuing education courses.

On a personal note, my mother lives with chronic pain and disease, thus making me an empathetic, compassionate and caring resource to clients. I gave birth to my beautiful daughter, Astara, in March 2022. Motherhood has taught me so much about taking time for your healing to support others in your life.

In my downtime, I love to practice yoga, play outside with my Frechie named Peach, weight lift, sauna, cook, and practice living an ayurvedic lifestyle. There is little that gives me greater joy than working, particularly in this field. I believe there is no substitute for human touch.

I’m excited to join the wonderful massage staff at NAZ Massage. I have been a massage therapist for over 4 years. I enjoy problem solving to resolve specific issues clients are dealing with but also providing relaxation and healing.

I love helping people and that is what drew me to massage therapy. I am an athlete and many of my athletic friends experienced debilitating muscle and fascial issues. Massage addresses these issues so effectively and I was happy to be able to help my community in this way. I enjoy this work and making a connection with my clients to better serve them.

As a musician, I am interested in live music of all sorts. I am a triathlete and have completed the Ironman distance in Tempe and enjoy all sorts of sports. I love the vibe, the people and the beauty of Flagstaff. I am in the place  that I  am meant to be. I hope to meet you in a session soon.
